Falta de transparencia en el Consejo de La Cuidad.

Muchos han expresado su preocupación por la reciente decisión del Concejo Municipal de Bend de nombrar al republicano Chris Piper para que ocupe el asiento que dejó la demócrata registrada, Sally Russell, cuando fue elegida alcaldesa en noviembre de 2018. Indivisible Bend comparte estas preocupaciones. El proceso por el cual el Concejo Municipal llegó a esta decisión no fue transparente y parece ser el resultado de acuerdos bajo la mesa. Failure of Transparency at Bend City Council – Call To Action

Many have voiced concerned about the recent decision by the Bend City Council to appoint Republican Chris Piper to fill the seat vacated by registered Democrat, Sally Russell, when she was elected mayor November 2018. Indivisible Bend shares these concerns. The process by which the City Council came to this decision was not transparent and appears to be the result of back room deals. This is a complex and rapidly changing situation.If you share these concerns, you have several options to hold the City Council accountable. We list these options at the end of this email. Postcards to Voters Parties in Bend, Redmond and Sunriver!

It's crunch time for the 2018 election! Indivisible Bend has set up postcard writing events in Bend, Redmond, and Sunriver. There will be 2 events in each city. We hope to get as many people as possible to write postcards to voters so we can GET OUT THE VOTE  for candidates and important ballot measures that Indivisible Bend has endorsed. This is an easy and fun way to do your part to make change happen for the 2018 election. We provide postcards, stamps and addresses, you provide the handwriting and creative energy! Indivisible Bend Canvass: McLeod-Skinner/Lowes Cross Carry Dates

Indivisible Bend endorsed candidates Jamie McLeod-Skinner (Oregon's second congressional district) and Amy Lowes (Deschutes County Commissioner), are teaming up to canvass together in Bend and Redmond in the coming weeks. If you are interested in knocking on doors for McLeod-Skinner and Lowes, just put on comfortable shoes, charge your phone (we use a mobile app, or if your prefer paper we can do that too) and show up. We will provide simple instructions and assistance if needed for downloading the mobile app and reviewing your turf along with encouragement for those canvassers out for the first time! Potluck & Social with “Where’s Walden?” Caravan

Friday, Aug. 24 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. join Indivisible Bend and The Vocal Seniority in welcoming Indivisibles from across the district as they criss-cross Oregon looking for the elusive Walden--picking up other Indivisibles along the way! Indivisible ORD2 of Ashland is leading a "Where's Walden?" Caravan (Bend is one of multiple stops along the way) that culminates in a town hall in Walden's hometown of Hood River on Saturday night. Friday night the caravan arrives in Bend and all are invited to bring a dish to share and gather for social time with our fellow Indivisibles. The "Where's Walden?"
